Punjab E-Bike Scheme Balloting 2026: Has the Merit List Come Out? Latest Position Explained

Punjab E-Bike Scheme Balloting 2026: Has the Merit List Come Out? Latest Position Explained

Every day, thousands of applicants search the same question: has the E-Bike balloting been held, and is my name in the list? The internet is full of answers — balloting result pages, “merit list PDF” downloads and confident date announcements. Almost all of it is ahead of the facts. The truthful position, as of late October 2026, is that the computerized balloting for the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme has not taken place yet, and therefore no merit list or selected students list exists anywhere. Verification of applications is being completed during October, on the Chief Minister’s directions to finish the remaining work at the earliest. This page explains what will happen next, and exactly how you will check your name when the ballot is actually held.

Has the Balloting Been Held? The Straight Answer

No. The balloting has not been held so far, and the Punjab government has not announced an official date for it. What has happened is this: applications closed on 4 October 2026, and since then institutions, the transport authorities and the Bank of Punjab have been verifying the 607,399 completed applications. On 12 October, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the departments to complete all remaining work on the scheme at the earliest, and reports of that meeting say the verification and selection process is being completed during October.

So when a website announces a balloting date or declares the “result is out today,” it is guessing or copying other guesses — not reporting an official decision. Dates like these keep changing on such pages precisely because they were never official. The balloting date, when finalised, will be announced by the government and posted on the official portal bikes.punjab.gov.pk. That announcement, and only that one, is worth believing.

According to the latest reports, balloting will be held on 4 November 2026; confirm the date on the official portal bikes.punjab.gov.pk.

How the Computerized Balloting Will Work

With more than six lakh completed applications for one lakh bikes, selection by hand was never possible or fair. The government is using the same approach as its other large schemes:

  • Only applications that pass verification enter the ballot pool — incomplete or ineligible files are filtered out first
  • The Punjab Information Technology Board runs a computerized draw that picks names randomly from the verified pool
  • No official, politician or agent can add, remove or favour a name in a computerized draw
  • The outcome is finalised as a list of selected applicants, which is then shared through the official portal
  • Selected students move to the Bank of Punjab financing stage; everyone else can see their status on the same portal

This is also why “merit list” needs a small explanation. There is no marks-based merit list in this scheme — your board or university marks do not rank you. Selection is by lottery among verified, eligible students, so the document students call the “merit list” is really the balloting result list of selected names.

How You Will Check Your Name After the Balloting

When the ballot is held and the selected list is published, checking your own position will take less than a minute:

  • Log in to the official portal with your CNIC and password
  • Open your application dashboard and read your selection status
  • If you are selected, follow the instructions shown there for the Bank of Punjab process
  • If your name is not selected, your dashboard will show that too — no separate list needs to be downloaded
  • For any problem with your file, call the Bank of Punjab helpline at 042-111-333-267

Be careful with look-alike websites offering “merit list downloads.” Any page asking for a fee, your bank details or your portal password in order to show you the list is a fraud. The genuine status check is free, and it lives only on the official portal. For the full picture, read our latest update on application status and what happens next.

Claims You Will See Online — and the Reality

Claim circulating onlineVerified reality
“Balloting result has been announced”Not yet. The balloting has not been held and no result exists
“Merit list PDF is available to download”No official list has been published anywhere
“Pay a fee to confirm your name in the ballot”A scam. Nobody can confirm or change a computerized draw
“Bikes are already being handed over”Distribution is announced to begin on 5 November 2026, after selection
“Selection depends on exam marks”No. Selection is a random computerized ballot among verified applicants

What Selected Students Will Do Next

Once the list is out, selected students will complete the financing formalities with the Bank of Punjab — the same bank that will collect the monthly installments of Rs 3,028 over 36 months. The bike price of Rs 199,000 is shared between the student (Rs 109,000 through installments) and the government (Rs 90,000 subsidy), with zero down payment and zero markup. After the bank process, students will collect their bikes from authorised dealers when distribution begins in November. Successful female applicants will additionally be offered free driving training, on the Chief Minister’s directions.

Conclusion

The balloting is the one remaining door between 607,399 applicants and 100,000 e-bikes — and it has not opened yet. No date has been officially announced and no merit list exists, whatever individual websites may claim. Keep your login details safe, watch the official portal, and the moment the draw is held, your own dashboard will tell you the answer honestly and for free.

No. As of late October 2026 the balloting has not been held. Verification of applications is being completed during October, and the computerized balloting will be conducted after that by PITB.

When will the balloting date be announced?

No official date has been announced yet. The Chief Minister has directed that the remaining work be completed at the earliest, and distribution is announced to begin on 5 November 2026, so the balloting is expected before distribution starts. The date will be published on bikes.punjab.gov.pk.

Is selection based on my exam marks?

No. This scheme does not rank students by marks. Every verified, eligible application enters the computerized ballot with an equal chance, and 100,000 names are drawn.

Someone is offering to get my name into the list for a fee. What should I do?

Refuse, and do not share your CNIC, portal password or money. A computerized draw cannot be influenced by any person. Report such offers, and rely only on the official portal and the Bank of Punjab helpline 042-111-333-267.
