Who can apply for the e-bike scheme
Two main categories are currently open — students and government employees.
Degree College & University Students
Regular students enrolled at an HEC-recognised degree college or university, holding a valid Punjab domicile, can apply through the official student portal.
Applicants must not already own a registered vehicle, and only one bike is allowed per family even if several siblings apply separately. Female students have their down payment and registration fee covered in full by the Punjab government, leaving them to pay only the flat monthly installment.
Punjab Government Employees
The scheme is also being extended to government employees, who will be able to purchase e-bikes on the same easy, interest-free installment structure once this category is formally opened for applications.
As with the student track, employees are expected to provide standard employment and identity documents, along with a guarantor, before their application can be verified by the Bank of Punjab.
