Track Your CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme Application Status
The Punjab government has announced a major expansion of its electric bike scheme, under which 100,000 e-bikes will be distributed to students across the province within one year. The decision was made during a meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who approved a Rs. 70,000 subsidy on every e-bike to make the scheme more affordable for students.

Why the scheme was expanded
Under the plan, men students will be required to pay a down payment of Rs. 14,000, while the remaining cost will be payable through interest-free monthly installments of Rs. 2,100. Women students, however, will not have to pay the down payment or registration fee, as both costs will be covered by the Punjab government — they will only be required to pay the interest-free monthly installment of Rs. 2,100.
The Chief Minister also directed authorities to introduce easier installment plans to encourage greater participation in the scheme, and the Punjab government has decided to extend the facility to government employees, who will be able to purchase e-bikes through easy installment plans of their own.
The announcement was made as part of the provincial government’s broader green transport initiative, which also includes the introduction of more electric buses, e-taxis, and electric three-wheelers across Punjab. During the same meeting, officials briefed the Chief Minister on ongoing mass transit projects and the expansion of electric public transport throughout the province.

Common questions about tracking your application
Correct — the Punjab government pays the full loan markup for every approved applicant, so financing is interest-free for both students and government employees.
Verification timelines vary depending on application volume, since the Bank of Punjab checks academic records, licensing, and your guarantor’s credit history for every applicant in the queue.
Your application moves to the Punjab Information Technology Board for the computerized e-balloting stage, and results are communicated by SMS and email.
Not necessarily. With a large volume of applications moving through verification and balloting, status updates can take time. Re-check weekly rather than daily.
Yes. Applicants who aren’t selected in one balloting round remain eligible to apply again in the next phase, provided their documents still meet the eligibility criteria.
